Unravel:

This project was born from a bright spring day an a handful of oranges in the bowl on my kitchen counter. I always made it a mission to unravel the peel in one swoop, the spiral shape so enticing to me. Even if I failed, I was left with all these pieces in unique shapes and textures and a whole fruit, sectioned off perfectly for me to share. Through this zine, I unraveled both the physicality of the fruit and its meaning within my family. I made ink prints of the peel as a backdrop for the orange's texture, and used a color palette that was bright and friendly. The cutout of the orange on the front page is then reused on the final spread, a way to visualize the sharing of a snack with a loved one.
